About Rose

Rose is a well-respected community activist with diverse experience in the political, public, and private sectors. In 2020 Rose was elected to represent Texas as a Democratic National Committee Member (DNC) where she will continue to fight or all Texans. Rose has been a Precinct Chair for over 15 years and is a member of various state-wide, local, and non-profit organization including Texas Democratic Women; founding and current member of the State and Harris County Tejano Democrats; Mexican American Democrats; LULAC and numerous other clubs and organization including being a founding member of the newly form Latinas United PAC.  She is currently the Chair of the Rules Committee of the Harris County Democratic Party a position she has held for at least 8 years.

She served as the State Democratic Executive Committee women (SDEC) for 14 years and was reappointed by former party Chairs Slagle, Malcom, Soechting, Ritchie and current chair Hinojosa to serve as Chair of the TDP Rules Committee a position she held for 12 years.  Rose continually works to ensure the Democratic Party is one of fairness, inclusiveness, diversity, and accountability. 

Rose’s prior community involvement included Campaign Coordinator for Ann Richards for Governor, Bill Clinton for President and Hillary Clinton for President 2007 Campaigns as well as long-time coordinator and volunteer for numerous elections and campaigns.

Rose currently serves as a Board Member of the Mayor's Hispanic Advisory Board (MHAB) under Mayor Sylvester Turner and served under Mayors Whitmire, Brown, and White. Rose was an Executive Assistant to Harris County Attorney Mike Driscoll; Office Manager for Mayor Bob Lanier and former Board Member of the Main Street Market Square Management District and TIRZ.

Rose Salas is the Director of Operations for the Migraine Relief Center and ZO Skin Health Centers in Houston and Dallas. She recently was named as a recipient of the “Women Making History Award” by the Texas Democratic Women of Metro Harris in recognition of her lifelong work and commitment to support the Democratic Party and promote Democratic causes.
