About Wendy

Wendy Novoa, originally from Ecuador, has called Houston home for the past 19 years. Wendy is a graduate of the Honors College at the University of Houston where she double majored in Political Science and Sociology, completing her degree in three and a half years and graduating as the #1 in her class with the highest GPA. During her time at UH, Wendy worked a research assistant to Professor Carol Cooper, focusing on restorative justice, an experience that further inspired her commitment to a career in public service.

Her career in public service began early, interning as a sophomore for State Representative Christina Morales. Wendy later transitioned to the municipal level and has now served two years on the team of Council Member Mario Castillo.

In addition to her professional work, Wendy is a proud member of LULAC Council 60 and a recipient of two LULAC scholarships.
